
Police have registered a murder case and arrested the maternal uncle of a 19-year-old girl who was killed by a stray bullet during celebratory firing at a wedding ceremony in Shah Latif Town, Malir.
The victim, identified as Fatima Kiran, was fatally shot in the neck during the late-night festivities. The groom - who is also the victim's cousin - reportedly fled the scene and is currently wanted by police.
According to Shah Latif SHO, the case has been registered on the complaint of the victim's father, Ahmad Awan. He said that his daughter and wife had attended the wedding of his brother-in-law Nisar Gul's son in Shah Latif Town. Early the next morning, he was informed by relatives of his daughter's sudden death. Upon arrival at the hospital, Awan was told that Fatima had died from a gunshot wound to the neck. Subsequent investigation revealed that aerial firing had taken place during the wedding celebrations, allegedly carried out by Nisar Gul and others.
