The Pakistan Business Forum (PBF) welcomed the high-level meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and US President Donald Trump in Washington, calling it a timely step toward redefining ties.
According to the PBF, the engagement marked a pivotal moment as both sides showed intent to move beyond past complexities and build cooperation on mutual respect, shared interests, and long-term alignment.
In an official statement, Senior Vice President Amna Munawwar Awan said the constructive dialogue reflected a shared commitment to strengthen ties, promote regional stability, and explore cooperation in trade, security, and innovation.
She stressed the need to reset relations from transactional dealings to a trust-based partnership with shared global responsibility. The PBF said economic diplomacy must now take centre stage.
"There is vast untapped potential in trade, investment, digital transformation, education, renewable energy, climate action, and small business development," she said.
Awan noted Pakistan offered opportunities for US investors in technology, agriculture, green energy, and manufacturing. She underscored collaboration in education, research, and science partnerships.
The forum also highlighted the diaspora's role in entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and youth mentorship.
