Citizens' Action Committee has expressed strong dissatisfaction over what it termed a "non-serious" response from the Prime Minister's Portal (PMDU) regarding its complaint.
Chairman Zahid Ahmed Awan said government officials routinely ignore public grievances and pay no attention to the portal.
On August 31, Awan had submitted a complaint through the PM Portal demanding that the historic Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi be restored to its original status as a Ladies and Children's Park instead of being used as a garbage dumping site.
In his application, he stated that the foul smell and pollution from the dump were severely affecting the adjoining localities of Arya Mohalla, Liaquat Road, Moti Mahal, government offices, mosques, and educational institutions.
However, after 25 days, the MD of RWMC responded only with a brief note, saying, "We are cleaning with limited resources and old machinery, a cleanliness drive is also ongoing, and citizens' cooperation is needed."
According to Awan, this reply was "entirely irrelevant" and failed to address the core issue. He added that it was unfortunate that government officials often responded with "relief granted" without even reading complaints.
"If this is the condition of complaints on the Prime Minister's Portal, what can be expected about the day-to-day issues of ordinary citizens?" he remarked.
