A source has confirmed that Celeste Rivas Hernandez was not present at a D4vd concert last month, despite online speculation sparked by a viral video.
The claims emerged after footage from a concert in Maryland on August 23 or 24 circulated online, showing the singer seemingly acknowledging a woman in the balcony. Many internet users believed the fan resembled Hernandez, who was later found dead in the boot of D4vd’s Tesla on September 8.
TMZ’s Charles Latibeaudiere discussed the clip during an appearance on Banfield, noting, “There’s a woman in the balcony who he actually acknowledged, looks up at her. She certainly could have been Celeste. It looked like it.” However, Latibeaudiere added, “We have been told by a source who is connected to the case that it is not Celeste.”
Speculation grew after the fan in the video appeared to have similar hair to Hernandez and wore a black tube top. Police reports confirmed Hernandez had been wearing a black tube top when her body was discovered, intensifying online theories before being dismissed by the source.
Meanwhile, developments around the investigation continue. The Los Angeles Police Department’s homicide unit raided a property associated with D4vd on September 17, reportedly searching for potential evidence connected to Hernandez’s death.
It has also been reported that the R&B singer has vacated a Hollywood Hills residence. D4vd reportedly ended the lease nearly a week after the police search.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the investigation.
