Man held for slaying sibling over property dispute

FAISALABAD:

Police claimed to have solving a blind murder case after arresting a man who confessed to killing his own brother over a property dispute.

On September 14, Adnan Fazal, son of Muhammad Fazal, a resident of 142-RB Ghartal Pul in the Sahiwanwala police precinct, left home for Maghrib prayers.

On his way back, he was abducted by unidentified assailants who slit his throat and dumped the body in a bathroom of an under-construction room at Square 10, Killa 23, Chak 142.

Police shifted the body into custody.

Following the incident, City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Sahibzada Bilal Umar formed special teams led by DSP Nishatabad.

Using modern technology, SHO Sahiwanwala Tariq Mehmood's team traced and detained the victim's real brother, Hamza, for questioning. During interrogation, Hamza confessed to murdering Adnan out of greed for family property.

On the suspect's indication, police recovered the murder weapon and sent him to jail.
