
An additional sessions court sentenced a man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs300,000 in a case of assaulting two women.
The additional sessions judge announced the verdict after the completion of the trial, finding the accused, Muhammad Ismail alias Kalu, guilty of the charges.
The case dates back to 2022, when the convict assaulted two women within the jurisdiction of Alpa Police Station.
The police conducted an investigation, arrested the accused, and submitted a challan supported by evidence before the court.
After evaluating the evidence and hearing the arguments, the court sentenced Muhammad Ismail to life imprisonment and directed him to pay Rs300,000 as fine.
Meanwhile, Mohafiz Squad personnel apprehended two men clad in police uniform near the Lorry Adda on Tuesday morning.
According to a police spokesman, two Mohafiz Squad personnel stopped the suspects riding a motorcycle and asked them for identification.
The men failed to comply and were taken into custody. One of them was 8dentified as Hamza. Both suspects were handed over to Seetal Mari police and an investigation was under way.
