Tom Holland sustained a mild concussion while performing a stunt on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, leading producers to halt filming.

The decision was made after executives met to assess how the production should proceed, ultimately opting to suspend work until Holland could safely return.

The pause will last one week, with Holland confirmed to rejoin his castmates when filming resumes next week.

Insiders emphasize that the brief delay will not impact the film’s release schedule, which remains set for July 31, 2026. Studio sources describe the break as an abundance of caution rather than a major setback.

Despite the injury, Holland made a public appearance at a charity event for The Brothers Trust, which he runs with his brothers, reassuring fans that his recovery is going well.

Those close to the production say his doctors advised rest before returning to the physically demanding role of Spider-Man.

The actor has anchored the franchise since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and has become one of Sony’s most bankable stars. His last Spider-Man installment, No Way Home, grossed nearly $2 billion worldwide, becoming the studio’s highest-grossing release of all time.

Brand New Day will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

The ensemble cast brings back Zendaya as M.J., Jacob Batalon as Ned, and Michael Mando as the Scorpion. New additions include Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as the Hulk, Jon Bernthal returning as the Punisher, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, and Severance actor Tramell Tillman.

With the franchise’s strong box office history and Holland’s enduring popularity, expectations for Brand New Day remain high.

The temporary pause has sparked concern among fans, but both the studio and those close to Holland insist the situation is under control and filming is firmly back on track for next week.
