
The accused head of the Jirga, PML-N UC Vice Chairman Saifur Rehman, who allegedly ordered the murder of a central figure in the honour killing case of 17-year-old Sidra Bibi has filed a bail application.
He took the stand that he had nothing to do with the case. He has been under arrest for two months. Additional Sessions Judge Khalid Bashir has issued a notice approving the bail application for hearing.
The complete record was sought from the investigation team and SHO on September 24. While the interim bail of the accused Amir Akbar, who has not been arrested yet, has also been further extended and a notice has been issued on September 24 in this regard.
Both the bail applications have been sent back to District and Sessions Judge Abid Rizwan Abid for regular hearing.
