
Masked assailants on motorcycles opened fire at the office of senior lawyer and Pakistan Bar Council member Hassan Raza Pasha in Rawalpindi's Chakala area on Thursday.
The attackers parked their motorcycle outside Sami Plaza on High Court Road, entered the basement, and fired shots directly at Pasha's office door. Four bullets pierced the glass door, and two shell casings were recovered from outside the plaza. The equipment in the office was damaged. The suspects also opened fire on the road outside the office. The assailants than fled the scene.
Fortunately, Pasha was abroad at the time. "I was clearly the target, but Allah protected me," he told Express News.
Police, including SSP Investigation Talha Wali, SP Potohar, and forensic teams, collected six spent shells and CCTV footage from the plaza. The CPO ordered a thorough investigation.
Police spokesperson confirmed no casualties occurred, while technical teams have been formed to trace and arrest the attackers.
Police registered an FIR at Chakala police station following the firing incident. The case (FIR No. 2180/25) was lodged on the complaint of Advocate Khalil Ahmed, Secretary General of the High Court Bar Rawalpindi. The case was filed on the ground that he was in his office when he heard loud gunfire.
The FIR includes Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and provisions of the Lawyers' Protection and Welfare Act. According to the FIR, unknown gunmen opened fire with intent to kill, damaging office property and firing shots outside on the road before fleeing on a motorcycle. Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and assured that suspects will be arrested soon.
