Taylor Swift has agreed to provide evidence in the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, according to court documents filed on Friday.

The pop star, 35, will be deposed later this year, but only if a judge approves an extension to the discovery deadline. Lawyers for Baldoni, who starred alongside Lively in It Ends With Us, argued that Swift’s preexisting professional obligations prevent her from testifying earlier.

Swift is scheduled to release her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl on October 3 and has stated she would only be available for deposition during the week of October 20–25.

The legal dispute began in December 2024 when Lively sued Baldoni, 41, alleging sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and lost wages. In response, Baldoni filed his own lawsuit in January 2025, accusing Lively of defamation and extortion, and referenced Swift as part of his claims. His case was dismissed in June, but Lively’s lawsuit remains active.

Swift was subpoenaed in May after being mentioned in Baldoni’s filings. Her representatives clarified at the time that she had no role in the film besides allowing the use of her song My Tears Ricochet on the soundtrack. They stressed that Swift had no involvement in casting, production, or creative decisions related to the project.

The legal battle has fueled speculation about the impact on Swift’s long-standing friendship with Lively. Reports have suggested tension between the two, though neither has publicly commented on their relationship.

As the case continues, Baldoni faces additional allegations of harassment from an unnamed individual. Reps for Swift, Lively, and Baldoni have not commented on the latest developments.
