Crocs and Hollister have removed singer D4vd from their latest Dream Drop campaign following confirmation that the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a body discovered inside a Tesla registered in his name.
The vehicle was impounded and later examined at a tow yard in Hollywood after reports of a strong odour. Officers found a body inside a bag, though the identity has not yet been released.
The campaign, which launched on September 3, marked the first collaboration between the two brands, with D4vd modelling footwear and apparel from the Dream Drop collection.
Both companies issued a joint statement, noting, “We are aware of this developing story. With respect to the current situation, we have removed campaign content featuring D4vd while the investigation continues.” While images of the artist have been withdrawn, the remainder of the collection remains available online.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, rose to prominence with the viral tracks "Here With Me" and "Romantic Homicide", amassing billions of streams on Spotify. He released his second studio album, Withered, in April, with a deluxe edition due on September 19.
The singer has previously supported SZA on tour and performed at Valentino’s men’s spring 2024 show in Milan.
Despite the ongoing inquiry, he appeared in Minneapolis shortly after the news, handing out Labubu dolls to fans during a performance.

His appearance contrasted with the brands’ swift decision to distance their campaigns while the LAPD continues its investigation.
