PBC polls set for Nov 1

RAWALPINDI:

Polling for the election of new members of the Punjab Bar Council (PBC) for the 2025-30 term is scheduled for November 1. A total of 29 candidates from the Rawalpindi district have entered the contest and have already launched vigorous election campaigns.

Lawyers from the six districts of Rawalpindi Division — Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Murree (Malka Kohsar), and Talagang — will elect five representatives to the Bar Council. In total, 28 candidates are competing in this pivotal election, including Fakhar Hayat Awan, Faisal Malik, Sardar Behzad Akram, Haider Mehmood Mirza, Madam Naheed Ayub, Rizwana Raja, Shahid Mehmood Langrial, Chaudhry Muhammad Tajik, Hasan Abbas, and Sajnal Raza Chhati.

While polling is set for November 1, the official schedule has not yet been released and is expected next week. With just over six weeks to go, all candidates have intensified their campaigns.
