A fishing boat carrying four men capsized in the open sea near Port Qasim, leaving one fisherman dead while three others were rescued, officials said.
According to Coastal Media Center spokesperson Kamal Shah from Ibrahim Hyderi, the boat belonging to local fishermen met with an accident and sank unexpectedly.
Rescue teams managed to save three of the men, but one, identified as 70-year-old captain Somar, son of Usman and popularly known as Osu, drowned. His body was later shifted to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Those rescued included the deceased captain’s son, Abid, along with Ali Asghar, son of Aziz, and Kabir.

Chairperson of the Fishermen Cooperative Society, Fatima Majeed, expressed sorrow over the incident and said timely rescue efforts had prevented further loss of life. She extended condolences to the bereaved family.
In late July, the body of a young fisherman, Zeeshan, was recovered and handed over to his family as it left the city's coastal fishing hub, Ibrahim Hyderi, in shock.
The discovery came only a day after the burial of his father, Ayub, who had drowned along with fellow fishermen when their boat capsized near Gwadar in strong winds.
The back-to-back losses left the tight-knit fishing community in deep shock and mourning.
