Jason Kelce has reflected on his brother Travis Kelce’s relationship and recent engagement to Taylor Swift, saying he never doubted that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end would eventually find the right partner.
Speaking on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast on September 2, the former Philadelphia Eagles star said he always believed his younger brother would settle down when the time was right.
“I think I never lost hope that that would happen. I think he’s just … you’re young, you’re having fun, you’re figuring things out,” Jason said.
He added that he has always trusted Travis’s values and character. “At all times, I think I know my brother’s intentions. Who he is as a person and the values that my parents raised him with — how he treats people, how he treats women and all these things. And I think eventually it works out if you go through life with that.”
Jason described his brother as “a great person” who “lives his life the right way” and said that this outlook made him confident Travis would find someone who matched him well.
The NFL star also spoke about Swift directly, saying he felt fortunate to have come to know her over the past two years. “I know the kind of person he is and I’ve been blessed to get to know Taylor over the last couple years and I just think that they match so well together. They are unbelievably supportive of each other.”
Swift and Travis Kelce, both 35, announced their engagement on August 26 in a joint Instagram post featuring photos of a garden proposal. The singer captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
