
A young psychologist was shot at and injured during a robbery attempt near Hill Park on Shaheed-e-Millat Road on Tuesday morning, the police said.
The victim, Syed Shaheer Javed, 27, was intercepted by armed assailants on the service road adjacent to Bagh-o-Bahar Marriage Hall. Police said the suspects opened fire when the victim resisted, injuring him before fleeing the scene with his newly-purchased motorcycle.
Shaheer is the son of Javed Saba, a noted poet and senior scriptwriter of Express News programme - Shabbir To Dekhe Ga.
According to investigators, the victim, a resident of Defence Phase VI, had just dropped his nephew at a school located within the Baloch Colony police limits and was en route to a private hospital on Stadium Road, where he is employed as a psychologist. Family sources said he had bought the new motorcycle only three days ago.

He was initially taken to a nearby medical facility for emergency care and later shifted to a private hospital on Stadium Road. Doctors said his condition was stable and he is out of danger.
Upon receiving information, SHO Ferozabad Tariq Mehmood reached the scene along with a police contingent and summoned the Crime Scene Unit for evidence collection. A spent bullet casing, found at the incident site, has been sent for forensic examination.
According to the SHO, the suspects—believed to be three to four and riding two motorcycles—escaped towards Manzoor Colony following the attack. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
Police are making efforts to identify and arrest the culprits.
