Warwick Davis is returning to Hogwarts in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television series. According to Variety, Davis will reprise his role as Charms Professor Filius Flitwick, a character he portrayed throughout all eight original films. Unlike the movies, Davis will not double as Griphook the goblin banker; that role will instead be played by Leigh Gill.

HBO also confirmed several other additions to the Hogwarts faculty. Sirine Saba will play Herbology Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden joins as the ghostly Professor Cuthbert Binns, and Bríd Brennan will appear as Madam Poppy Pomfrey.

On the student side, Elijah Oshin has been cast as Dean Thomas, while Finn Stephens and William Nash will portray Draco Malfoy’s companions Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. Production is currently underway at Warner Bros.’ Leavesden Studios in the U.K., where HBO has been gradually revealing its expansive cast.

The Weasley family was recently introduced, with twins Tristan and Gabriel Harland set to play Fred and George, Ruari Spooner as Percy, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny. Leading the series are Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Other notable castings include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.

The series is slated to debut in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max. It is led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner (His Dark Materials, Killing Eve) and director Mark Mylod (Succession), who also serve as executive producers alongside J.K. Rowling and David Heyman.
