Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police claimed on Friday to have recovered the acid-burned remains of a missing public service vehicle (PSV) driver in Gulberg Greens in Kirpa limits, following arrests aided by call data records (CDR). Two suspects are in custody, while a third accomplice remains at large.
A police spokesperson said that Jehanzaib Khan had reported his driver, Muhammad Waseem, son of Muhammad Ishaq, missing at Bhara Kahu Police Station on August 14, 2025. Waseem, originally from Ghora Gali Malot, Murree, lived with his brothers in Bhara Kahu and had been driving Jehanzaib's Suzuki Bolan for five months, regularly transporting passengers from the Metro Station to Bhera Pul.
Investigators analysed the victim's CDR, which led to the arrest of Tayyab Ali, son of Liaqat Hussain, a resident of Murree Phagwari. During interrogation, Tayyab reportedly confessed that he, along with Abdullah and Sanaullah, lured Waseem under the pretext of a booking, shot him, and dumped the body in Gulberg Greens (Kirpa police limits).
The remains were recovered based on the suspects' directions. A close relative said that acid had been poured over the body to destroy evidence, leaving only bones. Police also recovered the pistol allegedly used in the crime, along with blood-stained clothing.
