Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, 2025, sharing photos of the proposal and a close look at Swift’s vintage-inspired engagement ring. The sparkler, which experts believe is an elongated cushion-cut diamond estimated at 8 carats and valued around $550,000, was reportedly crafted with the help of Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, according to Page Six. Sources suggest Kelce played an active role in designing the piece rather than simply selecting it.

Lubeck, who launched Artifex Fine Jewelry in 2023, relocated to New York City in 2024 to grow her business. In 2024, she introduced the Vault Collection, a set of 11 unique jewels priced between $4,300 and $33,560. The name and branding were widely seen as a nod to Swift’s “from the vault” songs, fueling speculation about Lubeck’s admiration for the pop star.

She describes herself as a goldsmith and hand engraver, specializing in intricate detailing often compared to tattooing rings. In an interview with Voyage Jacksonville, she explained that her craft involves cutting away small bits of metal with precision tools to create designs on the sides of rings. This distinctive style has helped set her apart in the jewelry world and may have influenced Kelce’s decision to collaborate with her.

Lubeck has also spoken about her journey in the industry, noting that she was once told she would never succeed as a jewelry designer. Instead, she built her career on persistence and exacting standards passed down from her father, also a goldsmith. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, she emphasizes jewelry as an emotional as well as aesthetic art form.

As of August 26, Lubeck follows Swift on Instagram, though there is no indication of direct interaction with Kelce.
