Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to sight Rabi-ul-Awwal moon on Sunday

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Karachi today (Sunday) to sight the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal.

According to Express News, the meeting will be headed by Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad and will be held after Asr prayers at the Meteorological Department office in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi.

Representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, SUPARCO, the Meteorological Department, and the Ministry of Science and Technology will also attend, alongside members of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

Zonal committee meetings will be held in Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, and other cities. The final announcement regarding the moon sighting will be made by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.

If the moon is sighted today, Eid Milad-un-Nabi — the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) — will be celebrated on September 5.
