Man killed over family feud

KHANEWAL:

A quarrel among women over a minor issue escalated into violence, leaving a man shot dead.

The victim was shot dead allegedly by a cousin who also injured his uncle.

SHO Shaban Goraya arrested the accused along with weapons as they attempted to flee.

According to sources, an argument among women of the same family turned into a clash in village 67/10-R near Khanewal. The women relatives of Javed and Sadaqat, who are cousins, had a minor dispute, which intensified and involved the men. The enraged accused Sadaqat, Umar Hayat, and Sharafat, along with their accomplices, opened fire, leaving their cousin Javed and uncle Ahmed critically injured. Javed sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and died, while Ahmed Ali was shifted to Khanewal District Hospital by rescue officials.

Upon receiving information about the incident, District Police Officer Muhammad Ismail Khark ordered SHO Khanewal Saddar, Muhammad Shaban Goraya, to cordon off the area and arrest the suspects. The SHO chased and arrested the accused Sadaqat, Umar Hayat, and Sharafat along with their weapons.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation has begun, while raids are being conducted to arrest their remaining accomplices.
