Delta Air Lines is introducing a new in-flight entertainment option through a partnership with Crunchyroll, the world’s largest anime streaming platform.

Starting later in 2025, passengers will be able to watch anime onboard Delta flights, either on seatback screens or personal devices via the Delta Sync Wi-Fi service.

The collaboration will give Delta SkyMiles members an added perk: a free 24-hour Crunchyroll trial that can be activated during a flight and continued after landing.

The service will offer a range of anime genres, from romance and fantasy to action-packed shonen series, appealing to both long-time fans and newcomers.

Many Delta aircraft already have seatback screens where passengers can browse a selection from Crunchyroll’s extensive catalogue, which boasts over 1,000 series, including exclusives. On planes without seatback systems, passengers can still access the streaming service on their own devices through in-flight Wi-Fi.

Julieta McCurry, Delta’s Vice President of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity, said the partnership is intended to appeal to a broad audience. “Whether you’re diving into the anime genre for the first time or continuing a favourite series, our goal is to make your flight more enjoyable,” she said.

Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini noted that travellers can choose to focus on one series or sample episodes from multiple titles, creating a flexible viewing experience.
