Complainant alleges victim was drug addict

A man was shot dead by his son over a domestic dispute. Police arrested the son along with the murder weapon after registering a case against him.

According to the police, Tasaduq Masood Shah, a resident of 412-GB, stated in his complaint that his uncle Ghulam Farid Shah Chishti, who was addicted to drugs, had abused his children at home. When his son Afzal Farid Shah tried to stop him, Ghulam Farid thrashed him and attempted to shoot him with a pistol. In retaliation, Afzal snatched the pistol from his father and fired at him, shooting him in the head and face. The victim died on the spot.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Tandlianwala Saddar Police Station SHO Waqas Hindal and other officials reached the scene. They arrested the suspect along with the murder weapon.

SHO detained

Police officials from Kasur took Faisalabad Civil Lines SHO Zeeshan Khalid Randhawa into custody for his alleged involvement in a kidnapping and murder case. The detained official was taken to Kasur.

The city police officer (CPO) suspended the SHO and directed SSP Operations Bushra Jamil to conduct an inquiry into the case.

Police sources said a complainant had stated in an FIR registered at Sheikhum police station in Kasur under Sections 365 and 302 that 20 armed man, including Matloob and Taimoor, had kidnapped Ghulam Rasool, killed him and dumped his body. SHO Randhawa was also nominated in the case.

Kasur Crime Control Department personnel, with the assistance of a DSP posted in Faisalabad, took the SHO out of an anti-terrorism court where he had gone to testify.

The sources said some of the suspects nominated in the case had been released after a settlement.
