Sharon Osbourne has shared her late husband Ozzy Osbourne’s reflections on his fans from an interview conducted days before his death. The Black Sabbath frontman died on July 22, aged 76.

Speaking to Pollstar on July 17, Sharon, 72, recalled Ozzy’s words after his final concert with Black Sabbath at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5.

She said he told her, “I had no idea that so many people liked me,” which she attributed to him being in “his own bubble.”

Sharon described the event as a “huge success” and noted its unique farewell format. The show was streamed live, with proceeds going to charity.

She said it was “the perfect way” to end a long career, returning to his favourite stadium, home of Aston Villa, in his hometown.

Ozzy’s family announced his passing in a statement requesting privacy. Thousands of fans gathered in Birmingham on July 30 for a funeral procession.

Sharon, alongside their children Kelly, Jack, and Aimée, as well as Ozzy’s son Louis, visited the Black Sabbath Bridge memorial, thanking supporters for their tributes.

According to his death certificate, Ozzy died from cardiac arrest and acute myocardial infarction, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease listed as joint causes. His occupation was recorded as “Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend.”

Sharon and Ozzy met in 1970 when her father managed Black Sabbath. She became his manager after he went solo in 1979, and they married in 1982. They shared three children and renewed their vows in 2017.

The couple starred in MTV’s The Osbournes from 2002 to 2005 and celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on July 4 2025. Sharon had previously called Ozzy her “soulmate,” marking decades spent together both professionally and personally.
