SARGODHA:

A case has been registered against a police head constable after the widow of a university professor alleged that her 10-marla residential land in Sargodha has been illegally occupied.

Amara Saeed stated in her application to Sargodha RPO Shehzad Asif Khan that her husband who was a teacher in Department of Mass Communication of University of Sargodha had passed away due to cancer during his service. After his death, she received his dues, which she used to purchase the registered 10-marla plot.

However, some time ago, someone demolished the boundary wall of her plot and begun illegal construction there.

When the complainant visited the site with her father, a man president at the spot introduced himself as Head Constable Muhammad Asif Qazi. He claimed that he had purchased the plot from a citizen and was now the owner.

The woman alleged that land grabbing mafia and the police official had colluded to illegally occupy her plot. She first tried to resolve the issue through local influential figures. When that failed, she submitted the application to the regional police officer.

The RPO ordered an inquiry and after completion of the investigation, instructed Cantt Police Station SHO Umar Farooq to register the case.

The police registered an FIR against the head constable.
