GAMBER:

Residents of Gamber, a densely populated town located along GT Road in Sahiwal district, are facing problems because of a collapsed sewerage system.

Every time it rains, streets and markets resemble flooded rivers and ponds, with rainwater often entering homes and shops, causing financial losses to local people.

Due to the absence of a properly functioning drainage system and irregular cleaning of drains, water stagnates in several areas, spreading filth and stench. It also poses a risk of diseases such as dengue.

A local resident said that during heavy rainfall, the water enters homes and businesses, causing not just damage but also fear for the safety of people.

He said the local authorities had neglected repeated complaints regarding the problem and action had not been taken by the Sahiwal district administration.
