BATTAGRAM:

On a tip-off from a local resident, Battagram Additional Assistant Commissioner, Akhtar Rasool, raided an area in Koza Banda and caught two suspects red-handed while slaughtering a donkey.

The donkey meat was seized and later disposed of, while the suspects were handed over to the police for legal action. During interrogation at the police station, the suspects changed their statement, claiming that the donkey was slaughtered for Chinese engineers.

However, local sources rejected this claim, stating that no Chinese engineers had been present in the Koza Banda camp for a long time. According to details, the AAC conducted the raid on Tuesday after receiving secret information about illegal slaughter.

The suspects offered no justification at the time of arrest but later gave a different statement to police. Local residents dismissed the suspects' claim as an attempt to avoid punishment and warned authorities that if any leniency was shown, they would stage protests.
