Hunger Games makes theatrical debut in London

The Hunger Games gets a theatrical retelling in London this October.

Mia Carragher, daughter of former footballer Jamie Carragher, has been cast as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: On Stage, the first live theatrical adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s best-selling novel.

The production opens at London’s brand-new Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre on October 20, 2025, and will run through January or February 2026.

Adapted by Olivier Award–winning playwright Conor McPherson and directed by Matthew Dunster, the production is designed to be immersive and dynamic.

The intention is to place audiences at the center of the action, in a theatre‑in‑the‑round setting featuring live fight choreography, wire work, and physical staging techniques.

The Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, with its 1,200-seat configuration, was purpose-built to support this production.

It aims to bring the scale and emotional intensity of Panem to the stage in groundbreaking ways, part spectacle, part live action.

This production marks a significant expansion of the Hunger Games franchise into live theatre.

Fans can expect to experience the story anew, from Katniss’s volunteer moment to her rise as a symbol of resistance.
