Hospitals asked to improve services

RAWALPINDI:

Authorities have issued strict directives to three major hospitals in Rawalpindi to ensure the availability of medicines and laboratory testing within hospital premises, address patient complaints promptly, and ensure respectful conduct by hospital staff.

The directives were issued during a meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Medical University, Professor Dr Muhammad Umar.

The meeting was attended by MS of Benazir Bhutto General Hospital Dr Sharjeel Sarfraz Sheikh, MS of Holy Family Hospital Dr Ijaz Butt, MS of Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital Dr Ikramullah Khan Niazi, and senior medical faculty and registrars.

The meeting reviewed instructions given during Federal Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi's visit to Holy Family Hospital, as well as guidelines issued by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz regarding improved patient care in government hospitals.
