Adam Sandler has honoured the memory of his late Grown Ups co-star Cameron Boyce with a subtle tribute in Happy Gilmore 2, now streaming on Netflix.
Viewers noted that Boyce appears briefly on a TV in the background of one scene, shown in an episode of Jessie, the Disney Channel series he starred in.

Boyce died in his sleep on 6 July 2019 at age 20, with the cause confirmed as epilepsy. At the time, his family released a statement: “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron.” They added, “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
Sandler had previously dedicated his 2020 Netflix film Hubie Halloween to Boyce, ending with a heartfelt message: “In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”
Boyce was known for his roles in Jessie, Descendants, and Mrs. Fletcher. His family later founded the Cameron Boyce Foundation to raise awareness and fund epilepsy research.
