LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge has reserved decision on a petition seeking removal of the petitioner's name from an FIR in a murder case because it had been included in the report due to similarity with the name of a suspect.

Judge Ijaz Ahmad Bosal reserved the decision after hearing detailed arguments.

A law officer told the court that the accused had been at the spot when the incident had taken place.

The petitioner's counsel argued that he had nothing to do with the case and had been nominated in the FIR merely owing to the similarity between the petitioner and actual accused's names.

He argued that the accused belonged to Pakpattan, while his client hailed from Raiwind.

He requested the court to remove the petitioner's name from the FIR registered under murder charges.
