Kristin Cabot resigns after Coldplay kiss cam scandal with Astronomer CEO

Kristin Cabot, the human resources executive at IT company Astronomer, has officially resigned following widespread backlash over a viral kiss cam video.

The footage, captured during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium on July 16, showed Cabot and then-CEO Andy Byron in an intimate embrace—prompting an internal investigation and public outrage.

Byron resigned on July 19, and TMZ has now confirmed Cabot stepped down on July 24. The pair, both married, were seen kissing and cuddling prior to being featured on the stadium's kiss cam. Byron’s sudden exit came just as his wife, Megan Byron, was reported to be staying at a $2.4 million Kentucky mansion, away from their Massachusetts home.

The incident went viral quickly, sparking memes, mockery, and fake statements across social media. Even the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team joined in by parodying the moment on their jumbotron using mascots. Coldplay has not commented, despite fake press releases circulating online.

Astronomer launched a formal probe soon after the video emerged. “Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” the company said in a public statement. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”

Neither Cabot nor Byron has issued a personal statement. The scandal continues to spark debate around workplace ethics, personal conduct, and the power of viral media moments. With both top executives now gone, Astronomer is left to navigate the fallout and rebuild trust.
