A man committed suicide after shooting dead his wife in Nishatabad over a dispute about his stepdaughter's marriage. The victim, Bushra Bibi, a resident of Mohalla Usman Ghani, had married Muhammad Shahbaz following the death of her first husband.
She had four daughters from her previous marriage. It was reported that she had arranged the marriage of one of her daughters, Manahil, on her own, which had become a source of conflict between the couple. Shehbaz locked Bushra in a room. When the police and neighbours attempted to break down the door, Shehbaz shot dead Bushra and then turned the gun on himself.
