The Sindh government has completed preparations to protect the lives and property of people during the monsoon rains and cancelled the leave of staff in local government institutions.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that deputy commissioners and chairmen of local government institutions have been directed to make arrangements for immediate drainage of rainwater. He added that the presence of the staff in local government institutions has been made mandatory to ensure immediate action in case of any emergency.

Sharjeel said in view of the expected rains, a rain emergency centre has been established at the SBCA, which is operational 24 hours with technical staff on duty.

Sharjeel said that negligence on part of the relevant staff will not be tolerated during the monsoon. He appealed the citizens to vacate dangerous buildings immediately and cooperate with the government to prevent loss of life or property.
