KARACHI:

A woman died in a mysterious shooting incident inside a house in Sector 10, Orangi Town. The deceased's body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), where she was identified as 40-year-old Tasleem Bibi, who had, reportedly, been married thrice, and had divorced all three husbands, but had two daughters from her first marriage. She was visiting her mother's house at the time of the incident.

SHO Mominabad, Meraj Anwar, stated that although initial reports suggest the deceased had committed suicide by shooting herself, several elements of the case appear suspicious. Police found the body in an upstairs room of the residence, where they also recovered a spent bullet casing. Notably, the pistol that was used was found to be registered to the deceased woman's brother, Sultan.

Further, two of the deceased's sisters-in-law were present in the house at the time of the incident, and claimed that Tasleem shot herself in the head. However, the SHO noted that the gunshot wound was on the left side of the deceased's head, even though such incidents typically involve the use of the dominant right hand, further raising doubts. Police are investigating the case from both murder and suicide angles.
