NBC's Chicago Fire will see another change in its cast for Season 14, as Michael Bradway, who portrayed firefighter Jack Damon, will not be returning.
Bradway, who appeared in 17 episodes across Seasons 12 and 13, has been cast in Every Summer After, a Prime Video adaptation of Carley Fortune’s 2022 novel. While Bradway’s departure marks the end of his role on the show, producers have left the door open for a possible return depending on his schedule, according to Soaps.com.
Bradway’s character, Jack Damon, was introduced as the half-brother of Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney). His journey on the show was marked by ups and downs, including a tumultuous start at Firehouse 51, followed by his move to another station and a rocky period. However, Damon found his place at Firehouse 51, particularly after the incident in Season 13, when he was trapped in a fire and later received support from Severide and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). Despite his eventual integration into the team, the looming threat of layoffs and forced retirements due to departmental budget cuts created uncertainty for his future at 51.
Bradway is not the only departure ahead of the new season. Actors Daniel Kyri (Darren Ritter) and Jake Lockett (Sam Carver) also will not return as series regulars. As the show gears up for major changes, showrunner Andrea Newman hinted at a shake-up that will test the team’s ability to stay united during turbulent times.
Despite these exits, Chicago Fire has welcomed Brandon Larracuente (Freeform’s Party of Five) as a new series regular for Season 14, although details about his character remain undisclosed.
