Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. appeared together at the Los Angeles premiere of the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel on July 14, 2025.
The event was held at the United Theatre on Broadway and marked a rare joint red carpet appearance for the couple.
Gellar wore a strapless Oscar de la Renta mini dress embroidered with butterflies, while Prinze Jr. arrived in a navy linen suit.
Although Gellar’s original character, Helen Shivers, was killed in the 1997 film and is not featured in the new sequel, she attended the event in support of the franchise and her husband.
Prinze Jr. returns as Ray Bronson, his role from the original film, alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt, who reprises her part as Julie James.
The film introduces a new generation of cast members, including Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, and Tyriq Withers.
Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the sequel continues the story of the slasher franchise nearly three decades after its debut. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on July 18, 2025.
Gellar and Prinze Jr., who met while filming the original movie, married in 2002 and have two children. Their appearance at the premiere was a notable moment for longtime fans of the film and the couple alike.
