Was it a natural death, an accident, suicide — or murder? Police are looking into all angles in the mysterious death of model and actress Humaira Asghar, as investigators work to determine what led to the shocking demise of the young celeb.
SSP South Mehzor Ali has formed a six-member special investigation team, led by SP Clifton Imran Ali Jagirani, to probe the case from all possible angles. According to the official notification, the team comprises DPO Defence Aurangzeb Khattak, ASP Nida Junaid, SHO Gizri Farooq Sanjrani, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Amjad, and IT Branch Constable Muhammad Adeel.
The committee has been tasked with uncovering whether Humaira's death was due to natural causes, an accident, suicide, or foul play. The committee will report daily progress to the SSP South.
As part of the investigation, police have managed to unlock Humaira's two mobile phones and a tablet. The passwords were discovered written in her personal diary. Officers are now combing through her digital data, including messages and chat histories, in search of leads. Her laptop remains inaccessible for now.
Two key witnesses — the building's watchman and a cleaning staff member — have already had their statements recorded. Investigators have also summoned other people connected to the case, including Humaira's gym trainer and several close acquaintances.
Moreover, police are examining her financial records to identify any unusual transactions or monetary concerns that might shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death.
Interestingly, Humaira Asghar's family has not yet approached police to initiate any legal proceedings. The investigation remains ongoing.
