
The body of a third-year college student, who went missing three days ago from Mansoorabad, was recovered from fields near Jhumra Road.
The victim, 22-year-old Muhammad Ahad, a resident of Mangpuria Chowk, Mananwala, was abducted by unknown persons when he went out of his house three days ago. An FIR under Section 365 (abduction) was registered at the Mansoorabad police station against unidentified individuals.
On Thursday afternoon, passersby found a body lying in the fields behind the warehouse, Jhumra Road. Upon receiving the information, SP Medina Town, DSP Nishatabad, SHOs of Mansoorabad and Millat Town, and other police officials reached the scene.
The body was taken into custody and shifted to the hospital for autopsy.
Police modified the FIR to include Section 302 PPC and launched a search for the culprits.
According to police, the cause of death will be determined after the postmortem report.
