In a major administrative reform, the Balochistan government has officially approved the merger of the Hub Levies Force into the Balochistan Police, signaling a significant shift in the region's law enforcement framework.
The Home and Tribal Affairs Department issued a formal notification on Thursday, transferring all command, authority, and administrative control of the Levies Force in Hub District to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Hub. As per the directive, all personnel previously serving under the Levies will now operate as part of the Balochistan Police, with their salaries, benefits, and administrative matters falling under the district police budget.
The move aims to establish a more unified and efficient security structure in the region. Officials noted that the longstanding operational divide between the Levies and police forces in Hub had often hindered coordination and rapid response efforts.
"This step is aimed at improving law and order through better coordination and response across the district," the notification stated.
With the merger now in effect, all law enforcement and security operations in Hub will be carried out under the centralized command of the district police, paving the way for a strengthened and more cohesive law enforcement presence.
