After failing to get him at his office, they targeted his home.
A senior police officer, infamous for his tough measures against notorious criminal elements, survived yet another suicide blast – this time at his residence – early Monday morning in Karachi. While the high-intensity assassination attempt was unable to take the life of the officer, it resulted in the deaths of eight others – including a schoolteacher and her son.
(Read: Profile - For Karachi’s mean streets, Chaudhry Aslam is a meaner cop)
In a display of alarmingly desperate determination, militants, who have borne the brunt of Superintendent of Police (SSP) Crime Investigation Department (CID) Chaudhry Aslam Khan’s efforts as of late, sent a double-cabin vehicle carrying 300 kilogrammes of explosives hurtling into the officer’s residence in the upscale Defence Housing Authority Phase VIII – an area that also houses a number of schools.
Having suffered intense infrastructural damage, the schools have been closed until their buildings are repaired.
Khan’s family is reported safe, while those dead include his police guards, his cook, and the son and driver of a neighbour. The blast created an 8X6-foot-deep crater and left a significant portion of the targeted house’s front facade, and that of neighbouring houses, in a pile of rubble.
“We claim responsibility for the attack. Aslam Khan has killed a number of our colleagues and also arrested and tortured many more,” TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told AFP in a phone call from an undisclosed location.
“He was on our hit list and he is still on our hit list,” Ehsan said, giving names of several other police and crime investigation department officials also targeted. “They will be killed soon,” he vowed.
Additional Inspector-General Saud Mirza cautioned that it was too early to say exactly which group is involved in the attack. “SSP Khan is a prominent officer in the fight against militants and his name appears in a recent Taliban hit list,” he added.
Even Aslam himself kept the scope of investigations open. “As of now, we believe that the TTP is behind the attack, but we are in the preliminary stages and other collaborating groups could be involved,” he told The Express Tribune. “There are many subgroups within the TTP, such as the al Mukhtar group.” CID officials are fairly certain that the group led by Hakimullah Mehsud is directly involved in the attack, but are considering other groups such as the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.
However, there is consensus that the same group that had attacked the CID operational base in Civil Lines, Karachi, in November 2010, is involved in this attack.
Undeterred
Officials say that Khan’s life was always under threat by extremists, particularly those from the TTP.
“Every month, there’s a new high alert for the CID and Khan almost always gets a mention,” an official said, requesting anonymity.
In fact, just a couple of months ago, the TTP had sent a DVD to media houses showing preparations of the November 2010 CID attack. The list of targets mentioned in the video included Khan.
But the man with a thousand enemies refused to be cowed. “Why don’t they come attack me in the open? I didn’t know these terrorists are such cowards that they will attack sleeping children,” visibly furious SSP Khan told reporters. “I will teach their generations a lesson,” the officer, who courageously went to work, vowed.
Inspector-General of Sindh police Wajid Ali Durrani said intelligence reports had warned of an imminent militant attack, as a result of which the Sindh police had assessed other installations – but did not expect Khan’s house to be targeted.
Evidence lost
Two closed-circuit TV cameras were fitted on a pole outside Khan’s house. However, the system they were attached to was damaged in the blast, creating a bottleneck in the probe into the attack.
A case has been filed against the attackers at the Darakhshan Police Station and Khan has registered himself as the complainant. However, despite the TTP’s claim of responsibility the FIR does not name any particular terrorist organisation and only refers to a ‘banned organisation’.
Witness accounts
For A, who works in one of Karachi’s most volatile PIDC area, blasts are nothing new but this one happened in the safety of his home and shook him to the core. “I was ironing my clothes to get ready for work when I heard the blast. The impact was so severe I flew back and landed on broken glass on the floor,” A said, showing his bruised arms. “At first I thought it was an earthquake.”
MH, who lives at a stone’s throw from the blast site, said the loud sound of the blast woke her up from deep sleep. “I knew there had been a blast nearby and it seemed as if my backyard had been attacked,” she said.

Taliban & their supporters are anti muslim, anti Pakistan, inhumane, cruel, women & children killer, untamed cavemens. We Pakistanis must not give-in to the hearsay promoted by the believers of violance. Ask proof before accepting any story of who is backing whom. Reject any reasoning for violance as the only means to reach a goal. The sympathisers of Taliban & fundamentalist are the involuntary supporters of bloodshed.
@Ikramuddin Akbar: Bhai no complains, GB road is busy and my pockets are full. No matter what the world say or think of me but I make my whole family work on GB Road. Its the best and guaranteed profession.
Pak army is ethically responsible to protect its citizens and not be trapped in politics or exhaust their energy fighting someone else's phantom war.
@Ashok: Hi, Ashok! GB ROAD, Delhi, Hope you wouldn't mind! How is every thing there? My best wishes, and regards.
@N.M.Mitha:
The killers are both Pakistanis AND Muslims. It's sad but it's true. Stop denying reality and be a solution not a stumbling block.
@antony: Agree 100% one can identify the true character of any person on seeing how he reacts at his toughest situation PLUS how he reacts when others are in tough situtation. I stayed true to my GB ROAD upbringing and reacted accordingly.
Pakistan has not been able to control bomb manufacturing material produced in its fertilizer factories . Despite international warnings to keep a count of who and how much urea and other stuff we are selling, Pakistan due to lack of check and balance and history of corruption is totally paralyzed. So much for continued corruption correction complains from public from years. Good news, its never too late to change and work on bad habits.
YOu can identify the true character of any person on seeing how he reacts at his toughest situation .Chaudhry Aslam Khan’s after running out from his front door and placing the dead and injured people in ambulance told reporters "I will teach an unforgettable lesson to the terrorist and their future generations" IF at all somebody rates 1 to 10 for bravery this is the example of perfect 10 and indian police should learn from this ( My wish!)
What i dont get is if this SSP was on the hit list why was not enough security provided around his house? if the timings of the attack were given why wasnt the area cordoned off for civilians and only allowed after a thorough check. why, in the first place, are such high profile people allowed to live in areas where they have schools or such public places? its like inviting trouble!
@ishtiaer hussain: Your a bit my friend.....Failed state or not....We are retaliating against this terrorism hence the blasts are a consequence of that...If elements of terror were free to run around in the country, this discussion would not be happening right now...
@Ikramuddin Akbar: Well only if you had checked GB ROAD delhi, you would not have expected anything from me. See my ancestors belong from there and we do what we know best..crossing line!!
Dear Mr. Ikramuddin Akbar,
You are having a conversation with one of your own compatriots who is using my name.
Regards.
All peace loving and moderate citizen must show their support for continued action against extremists criminals and their policy of murder and terror. They must know they can not wipe-out all of the people. They are blood thirsty dogs from hell and they will be sent back there soon. Its a "you kill me or I kill you" path for them. An officer as much as a citizen must not fear them. We must look-out for supporters even in their words and discourage them from using their hatred for the government's or a certain people to fan the extremists. Their supporters are as mush to blame for the bloodshed as the bombers themselves. Remember! The bombers must be seeing and analyzing public support or they would not have continued so far.
I agree with my countrywoman @Padma Lakshmi (Shri Lanka) some of the people want this mode of daily terror to stop specially when it is involving the innocent children while others think that Allah in his Mercy will make this scourge disappear when in fact that is why you every one Karachite is put on this earth in his likeness not to be cowards but to be warriors and the poor excuse that we do not know who these terror monsters are well pay informants to rat out their partners in crime and keep digging and stop comparing the situation to Shri Lanka no task is easy and all problems but to use lame excuses makes us wonder are Karachites have the will and moral fortitude to handle this tremendous task...each one search into your soul and ask yourself this question. Make us your neighbors proud that you are up to this task!
Thank you for the tremendous out-pour & support but enough of the sympathy wishes and prayer requests the world is watching Karchites when are you going to rise to the task? The students, the teachers the lawyers the chai-stall person please we beg you to come forward. Go around your individual neighborhoods and enlist people to form Militias. Lay down your mobile phones use Facebook and other social media to organize let the terror thugs know that you have ZERO tolerance and that you will take your neighborhoods back & drive these goondas of violence shake in their skins. Make citizens arrests and when they know that it cannot be business as usual be proud that you can participated in the well being of your streets.
@Rahul: Very well Rahul, and thanks, your words are solace to the people here, you have correctly expressed your views like a good and sympathetic neighbor for those who are in mourn. Ikramuddin Akbar Karachi
@Ashok: I'm not interested about your identification, your name tells everything nor do we demand your birth certificate, a lot of people in India live on streets and you are one of them ,no problem, Indians know Indians and India better. As far as Google is concerned we dont have to go so far finding people like you.what some of us wanted to reprimand you was think twice before jotting down anything that bears no ethics, end of conversation. Thanks, Ashok!
No body took seriously when the head of a political party warned that taliban are moving into karachi. During the swat operation in KP, quite a large number of militants took karachi as their haven and started their inhuman acticvities. I only wish now his warning was heeded to and preventive steps were taken. How pathetic and mournful is when we see the photo of a young mother and her growing son were among the dead.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Imran Khan and Fazl ur Rahman will hold a DHARNA to condemn the killing of innocent people..............................and will tell the Pakistanis that these are Muslims and they are killing their Muslims people......................
Where do TTP buy their weapons etc from ? Maybe we should all buy from the same supplier to ARM the civil and military defence forces.
And they are searching for the Jihadis in some mountains on Af-Pak border! (like they were looking for Osama) . may the victims souls rest in peace.
@ishtiaer hussain: Did u quote these words? Font looks so different ! Well whatever it is
Don't u dare write craps for Pakistan ? What's ur identity ? Coming back to ur rotten statement : Pakistan is not yet a failed state ..still u can't compare this land with those two extreme lands!!! We r eing targetted coz of location ..weak law ..and corrupt politics !! If u really wanna try ur luck..then come on in...jump btw these attacks and tell us what a successful country is !!!!!!!!! Our children..r giving world's best education records ...our doctors and engineers r ranked as one of the world's best engineers/doctors...we were among the first nations to join UN peace keeping forces...1st largest/strongest Muslim army ...a beautiful country ...!! The points tht make 'us' look bad r terrorism..politics..economy !! We can end this terrorism in just one day ...but dude ..who is going to challenge dollars? Zardari or Altaf? They have a written agreement on drones and these attacks..wht do u think..r agencies r craps? Nopes they r very smart..I am sure our agencies knows abt such blasts..but they still can't inform!K!! Talibans huh...just observe: no drones+ no target killing yesterday and today ... = one bomb blast in khi and one in Peshawar ! Now do u get my point!! Education sector needs improvement on d govt level ...but tht will come when we will hve a good law /legal system !!
The facts tht I mentioned r not 'childish' but just remember don't judge any nation by their Crisis ..judge it by the way it deals with crisis... We still hve brave and determined ppl..and I give u my strong word tht Pakistan will be forever (insh'a Allah) !!!
@Ikramuddin Akbar: Bhai pls dont mind, as I said i belong to GB ROAD delhi where the norms are different from rest of the world. Check GB ROAD on google if you don't know.
The problem is that the government is too scared to take any action. One of the reasons for this is that historically whenever the government has taken a tough stance, people have come out onto the streets.
It is only when the public demands tough action against all criminals and terrorists, that the government will be able to do anything.
What's it going to take for Pakistan to wake up and get rid of the Taliban? You can sit around and be targets forever or get off your duffs and use your 500,000 man army and eliminate this scum.
Dear FZ
There are quite a few crimnal political parties operating in Karachi at present. You want to bring another one to kill innicent people and collect Bhatta from Karachites.
Only honest leadership in the country can improve law and order situation in Pakistan. Its failure on the part of goverment to have such incidents.Intelligence agencies had predicted suicidal attak on 19th morning. The police in the city was busy collecting brbes from motorcyclist and from suzukis of vegetable sellers at this time of the day.
I prey for the leaders to use good brain and think for the people of pakistan not for the post and chairs they holding. How long i know all accidents and such terririsoms are supperted by police officiaals, athenic groups, political terrirists, poor and needy people. There should be a strict law and rule to know about each and every neighbouraa live, there should be a regular team in all areas who should visit and asks qestions to the neighbouers of each others. If neighbours fail to answer about his neighbour one should be dealt as criminal.
*Pakistan is a failed state. It has joined the ranks with Somalia and Afghanistan. Terrorists of every sort are allowed a level-playing field to kill and maim innocents. Nobody dare to ask them why they are bringing destruction on this country. *
TTP should be brought into the political fold and be allowed to run as a political party. That is the only way this insanity is going to stop.
Maybe if they have a voice they wont need to create a bang .....
Talibans are the product just like any lethal manufactured product. Please Pakistan go after the owner of the machine that keeps on pumpimg out this mutant lethal product. Beware, and be courageous with a sharp and intelligent nose to sniff and snuff out those foreign hands loaded with money pumping these so called Taliban Humanoids from their terror machine. The terror machine needs to be destroyed and disabled once and for all. Pakistan authorities please do the Real Job . . . . not just going after the Humanoid product alone but after the main source funding and producing it . . .it is already too late and this menace has mushroomed into a monster. Unless Pakistan goes after the source with above average super intelligence, this will sadly keep on going . . . .
Although it may sound selfish of me but i have to tell you how I as a mother feel when a bomb blasts just nearby a children school. A childrens School where there are innocent children who have not taken sides with or against anybody. And what about the neighbours? what falt is it of theirs. We know the Govt, army and police cannot prevent these bombings ect , butlet us think a bit deeper into the matter. If this SSP was not living at this particular place this bombbing would not have happened.Am i right? Now why dont we mothers think togehter and see to it that no Offical army police Kesc or any big shot lives near our homes. I also know we cannot get rid of them but we sure can find out who our neighbours are. If it is a big shot and there is danger that he has enemies who perhaps will attacck his home then it is best for you and your family to move out of the area. I say this for your own safty, because nobody is going to protect us even if they want to there is no 100% gurantee. If you are they type of person who says i take my chances they i say good luck to you. Me and my family are looking for a safer place where there are no officals living. thank you
Pakistan needs police and military officers of the caliber and determination of Aslam who should be supported by the state. DGP KPS Gill finished militancy in Indian Punjab but he had the complete support of the state, centre and army as well who was told to remain behind the scene. Since TTP is claiming this attack, I feel army's assistance would be required since police is inadequately equipped to face this formidable outfit.
Well I was born on GB ROAD delhi and my comments are just reflection of my background.
@Atlantique: Bomb blasts ARE BANNED where do you live???
There is a very nice analysis of the attack here.
http://pioussluts.wordpress.com/2011/09/19/pakistan-losing-war-is-country-going-to-disintegrate/
@Ashok: If you are a Sri Lankan, it had been an every moment news for Sri Lanka for decades until we!!!! and the matter was solved in days, ok and if you are an Indian, I 'm not surprised, but you should not be ashamed on your callous remarks, the "home" should be where you have been brought up.Now my question : why you Indians are so interested in our matter good or bad, if something bad happens in your next door do most of you behave like that.We know the meaning of consoling and teasing.
Choudhary Sahib, We are proud of you! May other officers learn from his determination & courage.
All this is done in the name of religion. If this is what their religion is then I denounce their religion. Also, I denounce all those so called religious parties & individuals who been supporting these murderers. They are naïve that for their selfish personal goals they overlooked evil these people are spreading. These fools don’t realize that violence they are spreading will one day hit their families as well. But then it will be too late for them to repent.
Anyone who provides moral or material support to these murderers is supporting their heinous acts and should be fearful of God’s wrath.
Islam teaches peace and tolerance, this is shear murder of innocent men, women and children. It is incumbent on every Muslim to stand up against evil, if he/she can’t then condemn by tongue, or at least condemn in their heart.
Don't believe everything you read. We don't know what secret societies or foreign hands are behind all these bombings.
SSP Chaudhry Aslam, we are proud of you. You are the only person who can teach lesson to these animals.
@Rax:
You dont understand the gravity of the situation here. Houses of police and military officers, judges, politicians, bureaucrats are scattered in major cities of the country in residential areas. It is impossible to defend them all. they are all soft targets with little or no security. If such attacks ebcome the norm then there would be total chaos with loads of innocent people dying.
I have said it before and I will say it again: Pakistanis need to show zero tolerance towards nutjobs like these who carry out acts of senseless violence in the name of religion. The more middle-class Pakistanis blame these attacks on "foreign agents working against Pakistan and Islam" the more events like this will happen (if DHA Phase 8 isn't safe, I really doubt that any area in Karachi is).
I also feel really sorry for the Karachi police force - they're amazingly under-resourced (33,000 officers for a population of 15 million and growing) and are sandwiched on all sides - by religious extremists, target killers, political parties, land mafias, common criminals and on top of everything there is a total thanklessness and suspicion towards them from the public. Given the kind of pressure they face, I highly doubt that any police officer who wanted to work honestly could even if he tried his best. I wish all the best for Karachi's law enforcement agencies, and Mr. Aslam's stand is commendable.
@Padma Lakshmi: What do you expect us to do? We don't where the Taliban is hiding. Its not like in Sri Lanka where the LTTE had a clear agenda and a sizeable chunk of the island under it's control. It's not like Sri Lanka where the entire state was against the LTTE. In Pakistan the state is for the Taliban because the Taliban are our best hope for peace in the region once the Americans leave. In Pakistan the Taliban are truly invisible to us ordinary folks. They blend in with the populace far better than an LTTE suicide bomber.
What we are seeing here is basically our punishment for supporting the Americans in their destructive war in Afghanistan. Our leaders thought they would escape punishment by siding with the Americans. Instead they only delayed the pain. So instead of being bombarded by American jets over the course of a few months we are being bombed over the course of a few years by both American drones and Taliban suicide bombers.
@Anum: Well then, the Taliban would have denied the false claim attributed to them. Common sense.
....and yet we do nothing about the madrases and their sponsors.
@Razor: Pakistn ...............
@Padma Lakshmi (Shri Lanka): Totally agree. Have copied and posted your comments to others.
Long lice chaudhry Aslam. We are with you and will help you fight the Taliban
@ik: Everyone agrees THE TALIBAN ARE THE TRUE ENEMIES OF ISLAM & PAKISTAN
@Ashok...
I dont know which religion and country you belong to , as far as I know no human with a little peice of heart inside can not even think of those lines that you have written on such a tragic incident but most importantly if you think that it is always a Daily News from Pakistan....its a fake assumption for Pakistan created by people like you
It was not wrong when leader of a famous party warn the government sometimes ago about sneaking in of Taliban in Karachi, and time has proved it.Who gives shelter to these ruthless people,? who has a soft corner for these murderers of innocents.? Every educated and alive citizen of Karachi know that.,But their yelling was termed as" Diwane ki Barr " I pray for my city and our people,May Allah save all the people as He saved Chaudhry Aslam and his family.
We appreciate the sacrifices of our policeman!
@Razor: It is not a matter of who created them. They almost died after their expiry date. The question is: who resituated them, financed and armed them and the call it its ‘Strategic assets’.
before it's to late let's do something better to avoid these kind of inhuman activities.i don't think so that, the govt of pakistan is unable to stop these kind of actions. the people of pakistan should demand 4m the govt to stop these kind of action either Taliban or any other thing is doing that. May Allah bless us unity and faith that we could live a simple life like a good muslim. i am too sad abt these blast if they are here in my country or in pakistan. My condolences are with u
geez. this is just plain idiotic. are the terrorists even human? anyone who can conduct a suicide attack, kill innocent civilians to no end is not even human in my opinion. they are at the very best, mutants of human beings with evil, brainwashed, god-forsaken minds. God help their poor souls. What face will they show to God?
@Padma Lakshmi (Shri Lanka): Dear Padma, Don't involve Allah in this matter, A few days ago we had also been hearing bomb blast in Jaffna and other areas, by Tamil tigers ,and we did a help to you coming out of that situations the world know that,Allah was there also,He is every where, but the evil will be trapped soon Allah is not for Muslims only He is for every human beings and other creatures, so please,!!! and yes do you want more killings involving civilian sniffing bombs every where i couldn't understand what did you have in your mind! Thanks for your sympathy for us.
Its very sad that Incidents like these have become a daily occurrence in Pakistan, I just wonder what the morale of people in cities like Karachi is where I guess one is scared to go out anywhere in the city.
@N.M.Mitha: Time to stop just stop praying and do something. God won't send angels from the sky to deter these terrorists and the way things are going, there appears to be no ending in sight to this 'bad thing'.
Long live our security agencies who are fighting the criminals. These beast kills and terrorize innocent children.May Allah bring peace in the country.
Bomb blasts in Pakistan should be banned
“I will not be cowed. I will teach a lesson to generations of militants.”
Very well said Mr. Chaudary Aslam, we need more Chaudary Aslam.
@Padma Lakshmi - Thanks for your insight. . .It makes a lot of sense what you are saying. After all that may be the last resort for the people to protect themselves if no one else will. God help those who help themselves. So, people have to help themselves. By the way, I have great respect for Shri Lankan people. They are down to earth and smart and respectable and they too had their own challenges at one time. They are the most educated country and it is much appreciated that their doctors who are much needed are helping the Pakistani people in these difficult times. Thanks for your good will towards the Pakistani people.
the TTP are criminals. but as an aside- howc can an SSP afford to have a place like this in Defence in Karachi unless it has been given to him by the government....
I agree with Padma. Though I am extremely saddened by this mornings events; it's us - the citizen's who have to safeguard our neighbourhoods and cities. God helps those who help themselves, and I truly believe God will not help us until we take that first step. I hope that God gives us all the fortitude to make this happen.
Muslims in Pakistan have nothing to do with terrorism. Taliban has helped the west falsely accuse our cherished religion of Islam with their criminal acts of terror. The Taliban is the true enemy of Islam.
"""Pakistan’s Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying Aslam had arrested and killed many of its fighters. Shame on the "GUMRAH" talibans and Salute to Ch Aslam for doing an excellent job.
TTP like have never been "strategic assets". You make the issue more complicate by making such stupid claims.
My thoughts and prayers to all those who lost out in this battle against terrorism.
Terrorism indeed has no religion and spilling blood of innocents, children and women is no bravery either.
May this give all of us a resolve to fight even more spiritedly against this barbarians.
Rahul, India
Lets not just mourn the losses, let us re instate the cause by sticking firm to it that Insha ALLAH we'll keep on fighting with the terrorists / terrorist sponsors both internal and external till our last breaths and until Peace and Harmony prevails in our beloved homeland.. Great nations bear great losses in pursuit of their visions!!
Ch Aslam has demonstrated true leadership and courage. He is the kind of person we need in this country. This is the kind of response we need from people - forget the goons and thugs in office. The poster from Shri Lanka is right - every neighbourhood needs to TAKE CONTROL. Don't lie down and take it!
Unless the military and intelligence gets involved and gets to the bottom of this and catches the main funding and training hand behind all this carnage and blood shed . . . .nothing will be resolved, it will only be a superficial band aid. The enemies roots are schrewder, deeper and foreign made and foreign supported and thats where they need to do the sniffing . . . . The life line of these terrorist is the funding and if that stops, so will their life line of terrorism . . . .therefore, follow the money trail which would lead to its suppliers, the puppet and mayhem masters!!
This is a pleasant surprise that our Police is hitting the terrorists where it hurts, this revenge attack by TTP criminals is a proof that our police and civilian intelligence agencies are performing.
We should all support and encourage the good work by CID Karachi.
And Yes! Chaudary Aslam is right terrorists are cowards and Islam does not need this cowards.
Taliban have accepted the responsibility of this attack by a phone call from an unknown location, like they always do after a terrorist attack. How can we know this is true?? are there not terrorists of certain political parties, who might have done this so that the police donot carry out operations against them. God knows better.
I was there when it all happened. Was there to drop my sister at her school beaconhouse. Alhamdullilah by the grace of Allah me and my sister successfully escaped from the place with no harm. May Allah bless us all.
Who is supporting and funding and arming these terrorist. Pakistan's military and intelligence please follow the money trail seriously . . . and that is the only way to nip it in the bud. Pakistani intelligence and military needs to get to the very bottom of these blood suckers and hold the country accountable that is secretly funding them. These terrorist could not do it alone . . . . there is definately a foreign hand behind this.. . . This is absolutely an act of war against Pakistan! It is now the job of Pakistani intelligence to unfold this and it is about time they confront the handler of this enemy. . . .the public is loosing patience really fast as their losses are not for free.
If anyone saw TV channel, A teacher which was passing with his 8 year old son nearby got killed too :(, There family got destroyed that 8 year old boy life just started why why :( why
Chaudary Aslam we love you,and your efforts again these terrorists.May Allah help you .
I condemn this cowardly and dastardly act with vehemence. May the Souls of the victims rest in peace. If by now citizens do not condemn the Establishment for its policies of "Strategic Depth" and use of non state actors for promoting violence whether within the borders or across them, they should expect no sympathy from the International community who have used every occasion to tell the Government they must destroy the sanctuaries provided to terrorists and disrupt all the terrorist networks. After 10 years of promising to fight terrorists and taking in billions in Aid to do so instead of taking all the help on offer the Government is more bothered about playing games in Afghanistan rather than spending time and resources in protecting citizens. There are limits to megalomania and after loss of over 30000 lives if their conscience is not pricked, it is unlikely they will change their ways. Attacking India and Afghanistan is good terrorist, attacking Pakistan is bad terrorist is logic no one with an iota of common sense has been able to accept. The terrorist supporters have silently entered the blood stream of Pakistani Institutions and are corroding it from within which is why apologists are busy pointing to Ghosts outside the borders both East and West. To fight the enemy within the country does not need supersonic fighter aircraft, long distance missiles or nuclear bums, the most basic Arms and armaments will do. What is more important to win this battle is WILL.
May Allah protects our Pakistan and all the good pakistanis ..Aameen !!! This was horrible !!!! I don't believe in taking revenge...but I do believe in justice !
@quratulain: How long will we keep asking for it without accepting guilt.
GOD blessed our Pakistan.............!
May Allah Bless the souls of the people who lost their life. May Allah also give the relatives of the affected people patience to handle this grief. Having said this I wonder how an SSP in Police can afford to live in such an expensive neighborhood. If he is honest and targeted by the terrorist for performing his duties May Allah help and guide him in catching these animals.
This is getting to be "Daily news of Pakistan." the rest of us are tired of these incidents happening in Pakistan and if the authorities area incapable of handling the situation should not the people of Karachi form a civilian Militia and rid their neighborhoods of these murderous thugs? I wonder if you all are depending too much on God rather than take matters in your own hands. Throwing up your hands and hoping Allah takes care of the situation and praying for the deceased is a poor excuse for NO action as every citizens is responsible for the continuation of this madness. Other countries have experience worse situations but the people have shown courage and have gotten organized and everyone has bought his expertise to the arena and with pain and lots of hard work improved the conditions the world wonders and ponders where are Karachites and why local citizens are not doing something rather than wait ?
My condolences with the family, neighbors and all the school going children..... Find them and punish them please!
Who created these terrorists
There are some unseen forces who are after us and they want to create internal and fatal cracks in the basic structure of Pakistan.
We need some cool, wise and accomodating minds to take us out of this chain reaction of violence and destruction.
Had the lesson be taught a few generations back, this would have not have happened
Sad for the causalities ,May their souls rest in Peace! and God Show right path to those brain washed terrorists! and bring peace in our country.. Ameen!
Totaly shameful act.....!! Life and Death in the Hands of ALLAH who saved us from these terrorist activities... only one line for those who did....." Jisny aik insaan ko qatal kea usny poori insaaniat ko qatal kea"
Now let see how some politicians (religious & right wing) & sportsman turned politician justify this, killing of 8 innocent people including (from what I have heard) a teacher & her kid on the way to school?
These people say that the Army & Government should talk or negotiate with these animals? I say we pack these Taliban sympathizers & send them to Taliban’s. They should go with them & not live in our society!!!!
Some sympathy for the 8 people killed would also be appreciated on the part of the commentators here. a women and child got killed while dropping the child off to school. six guards died carrying out their duty. Yet our people will still only come out on the streets when their is an electricity breakdown. Embarresing excuse for a nation we are.
This is all a conspiracy to take Gawadar and Karachi away. They are Jewels of Asia Strategicly.
"Unki nasalay bhi yaad rakhengee ke main unke saath ab kia karta hoon" : SSP Aslam responding to the terrorists who attacked his house..
God bless Pakistan...!
It is high time to differentiate between the good terrorist and bad terrorists? They are all the same. Kasab is as much a terrorist as Quadri and as TTP.
It was like a big bang in neighborhood. May ALLAH protect us all.
this guy sure has guts “I will not be cowed. I will teach a lesson to generations of militants.” I hope you do sir!
That was so inhuman! :(
Very sad. what Terrorists want. God this should stop. why they are doing this? are they not human being?
I must say, all those people behind these target killings and bomb blasts are not Pakistanis and not Muslims. They want educated people to move out from this country with fear for their future, but they dont know, Allah is almighty and there is always an end of bad things.
Strategic Death!
Daily police report to SC, not available. Writers dead.
Another bad news...........Allah Khair Karay.
No one has a right to take anyones life. Those who are doing this, and those who provide tacit support by supporting these actions, have no regard for human life. They all must be tried and paid for their sins.
Daily news of Pakistan.
