British soul singer Olivia Dean has gone public with her new boyfriend, Eddie Burns, the drummer in Clairo’s band, making their first official appearance as a couple at Wimbledon this past weekend. The pair arrived hand-in-hand on Day 5 of the tournament, sparking a flurry of media attention following months of quiet speculation.
Dean, 26, and Burns, 27, were first linked in April, after fans noticed the singer engaging with his posts on Instagram. Their joint appearance at Wimbledon confirms what fans had suspected, especially after both artists performed at the BST Hyde Park festival on Sunday, where Dean and Clairo supported Sabrina Carpenter.
Burns, a Chicago native with a rich musical background, has toured globally with Clairo, supporting major acts like Dua Lipa and Khalid, and playing alongside artists such as Macy Gray and Omar Apollo. His jazz roots were honed at the Merit School of Music and The Jazz Institute of Chicago, giving him a versatile foundation that’s evident on stage.
The news comes after Olivia was previously rumoured to be romantically involved with Harry Styles last year. The speculation began when the two were spotted at Five Guys in London just months after Styles’ breakup with actress Taylor Russell. They were later seen at the Kalorama Festival in Madrid, further fuelling relationship rumours. However, sources denied any romantic link, saying the two were simply good friends.
Despite a brief return of rumours last month, when Styles was seen kissing a mystery woman at Glastonbury, later identified as producer Ella Kenny, the focus has now firmly shifted to Dean’s confirmed romance with Burns.
With a BRIT nomination, a Mercury Prize nod for her debut album Messy, and a second album due this September, Olivia Dean’s personal and professional life both appear to be thriving.
