Seven injured in rain, fire incidents

At least three people, including a child and a disabled girl, lost their lives while seven others sustained injuries in separate rain-related incidents across Rawalpindi on Sunday.

In Chahat, a locality in Tehsil Kahuta, the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rains that continued until Sunday morning. The incident claimed the life of one child, while four others, including two children and the parents were injured. Rescue 1122 teams managed to pull the victims from the rubble and provided first aid before shifting them to a nearby hospital.

In another incident in the Shah Bagh area on Kallar Road, a security guard fell into a drain during the rain and drowned. His body was pulled out and transported to the hospital. Meanwhile, in a tragic fire incident on Chakri Road near Lakhan Mor, a disabled girl died when a fire broke out in her home. Rescue 1122 teams controlled the blaze and moved the body to the hospital.

Moreover, a cooker explosion caused injuries to a man and a woman in Quaid-e-Azam Colony. Rescue teams shifted both to the hospital for treatment. In a separate case, a partial roof collapse in B-22 Chungi slightly injured one person, who received on-site medical aid.
