Ozzy Osbourne may have taken his final bow on stage, but fans can expect to see his legendary life unfold on screen soon. A biopic chronicling the Prince of Darkness’s life is officially in development, with Jack Osbourne confirming that the project is gaining momentum.
Speaking to The Sun, Jack revealed that the script is complete and a director has already signed on, though their identity remains under wraps. “We have the film on the way,” Jack said. “We have a lot of good momentum on the Ozzy biopic. It’s going to be raw. We are not pulling any punches, we are really laying it all out.”
The film, backed by Sony Studios, is now headed into a script rewrite. Jack emphasised the authenticity of the project, suggesting it will reflect the wild, complex journey of his father’s life, including his rise to fame with Black Sabbath and personal struggles along the way.
While production hasn’t officially begun, Jack remains optimistic. “If the evil overlords of Hollywood give us the green light, we could be filming in the spring, so maybe it will be out by the summer of 2027,” he added.
The announcement comes shortly after Ozzy’s final live performance on July 5, which featured a Black Sabbath reunion and appearances by rock legends. Though Ozzy has retired from the stage, the upcoming film will ensure his story continues to captivate audiences for years to come.
