
Pakistan’s youth netball team wrapped up an unbeaten campaign by overpowering Maldives 60-35 in the final of the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025 (Plate Division Cup) on July 4.
The dominant performance at Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium saw Pakistan control the match from the opening whistle, sealing their seventh consecutive win in the tournament and lifting the title without a single defeat.
Pakistan opened strong, taking a commanding 17-5 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Their advantage grew steadily through the match, with the scoreboard reading 34-17 at halftime and 45-23 by the third quarter. Maldives were never able to close the gap, with Pakistan maintaining composure and pace throughout.

The squad featuring Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Sumayya, Alina, Amani, Parisa and Farah Rasheed delivered a balanced and disciplined performance, with each player contributing to the team’s success.
The final concluded a week-long competition, held under the Asian Netball Federation, which ran from June 27 to July 4 in Jeonju.
Pakistan’s victory in the Plate Division adds to the country’s growing reputation in youth sports across the region.

Officials from the Pakistan Netball Federation, including Chairman Mudassir Arian, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz, extended congratulations to the team, calling the win a proud moment for the sport in Pakistan.
