ISLAMABAD:

In a groundbreaking moment for Pakistan's transgender community, prominent activist Nayyab Ali has been appointed as a Global Human Rights Fellow at the Carr Centre for Human Rights Policy at Harvard Kennedy School.

Nayyab joins a distinguished cohort of eight global leaders, including former US Special Envoy Jessica Stern, in this prestigious fellowship programme.

Her selection is being hailed as a landmark achievement that not only highlights her individual accomplishments but also reflects positively on Pakistan's commitment to inclusivity and human rights.

During her one-year fellowship, Nayyab will conduct research on critical human rights issues, culminating in a policy paper aimed at influencing international discourse and policymaking.
