Victim falls off vehicle at speed breaker

A five-year-old boy sitting on a tractor-trolley fell off and was crushed under its wheels.

The police registered a case and launched a search for the child's relatives.

According to local officials, Allah Maufi, a resident of the 375GB area, had returned to her parents' home with their five-year-old son, Hassan Mahmood, following a domestic dispute.

The driver, Ehsaan Yousaf, took Hassan along with him on the tractor-trolley loaded with wheat on Sunday.

As they approached near Chak 429GB, the tractor passed over a speed breaker. The child lost his balance and fell from the vehicle, following which the rear tyre of the tractor ran over his head.

The critically injured child was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Police took the body into custody, completed the legal formalities, and handed it over to the family. A case was registered and the police said an investigation was under way.

In another accident near Sudhar Bypass, two young motorcyclists were killed in a collision with a bus.

The bus of a mill hit the motorcycle carrying 20-year-old Shoaib Arshad and 19-year-old Ghulam Murtaza Asghar. Ghulam Murtaza died instantly, while Shoaib was critically injured and later passed away in a hospital. The bodies were handed over to the families.

Upon hearing the news, dozens of villagers laid the bodies on the main road, blocking traffic and demanding the arrest of the bus driver. Following reports of the roadblock, Iqbal Town police officials arrived at the spot and assured the protesters that the driver would be arrested.

The protesters dispersed after the assurance and the police registered a case against the bus driver who had fled after the accident.

Meanwhile, a restaurant worker committed suicide in Tariqabad by hanging himself following a domestic dispute. The police took the body into custody and began an investigation.

Local police officials said 22-year-old Nasir Saleem, a resident of Tandlianwala, who had been working at the restaurant near Tariqabad Railway Gate on Jhumra Road for the past four years, committed suicide following a bitter argument with his mother.

Initial investigation showed that he had spoken to his mother on the phone the previous day. During the conversation, he had a bitter argument with is mother, due to which he committed suicide at night. The deceased lived in a shop.
