Eleven agents held outside Excise Office

ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad's district administration carried out a surprise operation outside the Excise Department, leading to the arrest of eleven agents allegedly involved in unauthorised activities.

According to the spokesman of the ICT administration here, the Industrial Area Assistant Commissioner conducted a surprise inspection outside the Islamabad Excise and Taxation Office on Thursday. During the operation, 11 agents were taken into custody.

These individuals were reportedly involved in assisting citizens for a fee in tasks such as vehicle registration, token tax payment, and issuance of driving licenses - work that is supposed to be handled directly by government staff.
