Salvador Plasencia, the doctor who prescribed ketamine to actor Matthew Perry in the weeks leading up to his death, has agreed to plead guilty to multiple charges.

Plasencia will plead guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine without a legitimate medical purpose. This follows a plea agreement acknowledging that he repeatedly provided the drug to Perry, who tragically died of an overdose in October 2023.

Perry, 54, was found dead in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home. Federal authorities had previously charged Plasencia, along with several others, in connection with the actor's death. As part of the plea deal, Plasencia faces a prison sentence between 15 to 21 months, although the final sentence will be determined by the judge.

A text message allegedly sent by Plasencia to another doctor raised eyebrows, with Plasencia reportedly writing, “I wonder how much this moron will pay… Let’s find out.” The case also involves other individuals. Jasveen Sangha, dubbed the “Ketamine Queen,” faces charges related to methamphetamine and ketamine distribution. She is set for trial in August. Additionally, three other defendants — Erik Fleming, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Mark Chavez — have pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to supply ketamine.

During the investigation, Plasencia reportedly attempted to conceal his actions by fabricating a false “treatment plan” for Perry, attempting to justify the ketamine distribution. Authorities continue to pursue charges related to the widespread distribution of the drug.
