Sabrina Carpenter has responded directly to online criticism surrounding her upcoming album Man’s Best Friend and its provocative cover art.
After an X user reposted the image and asked, “Does she have a personality outside of sex?” Carpenter quoted the post and replied: “girl yes and it is goooooood.”

The comment came shortly after Carpenter announced her seventh studio album, due August 29, 2025. The album cover shows the Espresso singer on all fours, dressed in black, with a man holding her hair. It sparked a mix of reactions online, including debates about her image and lyrical content.
Carpenter addressed this in her recent Rolling Stone cover story, saying, “They’re like, ‘All she does is sing about this.’ But those are the songs that you’ve made popular.” She added, “Clearly you love sex. You’re obsessed with it. It’s in my show.”
The singer’s performances on her Short n’ Sweet tour have also gained attention, particularly during the song Juno, where she stages playful choreography to match the lyrics.
In the same interview, she emphasised the importance of not letting headlines shape her confidence. “I find irony and humour in all of that,” she said, adding that the only pressure she feels is “to be funny sometimes.”
