Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis will reprise their iconic roles as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet in an upcoming Spaceballs sequel. The new film, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, will see Pullman and Moranis returning to the beloved sci-fi parody franchise that first premiered in 1987.

This marks a significant return for Moranis, who has largely stepped away from acting over the past few decades. He last made headlines for his 2020 collaboration with Ryan Reynolds in a Mint Mobile ad.

Also joining the cast is Keke Palmer, known for her role in One of Them Days, although her character details remain under wraps.

Pullman’s son, rising star Lewis Pullman, will also appear in the film, adding an exciting family connection to the project. The plot details of the sequel are still under wraps, but the film is being described as a "Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film."

In addition to Pullman and Moranis, the film will feature Mel Brooks, the director and star of the original Spaceballs, who will reprise his role as Yogurt.

The original film earned over $38.1 million worldwide and featured a stellar cast, including John Candy and Joan Rivers.

The new Spaceballs film is slated for release in 2027, with Josh Gad directing and starring in the movie, alongside producing with Brian Grazer and Mel Brooks.
